About

freefemia.org is one course and one certificate. There is nothing else on it and nothing to buy.

How the exercises work

Every lesson ends in a number. You run the code on your own machine, read a value out of the output, and type it in. The site checks it against a stored answer and a tolerance.

The site never runs your code, which is why grading works this way. You install FreeFEM locally and train on Colab. Nothing you write is uploaded. You cannot produce the number without running the solver, and that is the only thing making the certificate worth anything.

What it is not

It is not accredited. No government or accreditation body stands behind it and nobody is obliged to recognise the certificate. What a certificate says is that the person named completed the graded exercises and passed the final examination on the date shown, and that is its entire claim.

It is not a company either. There is no LLC, no revenue, and no payment details are ever asked for, so there is nothing to bill and nothing to refund.

Who runs it

A group of professors, teaching for free in the field they work in. There is no support desk and the site may occasionally be down, for maintenance or because something broke. Certificates already issued stay verifiable regardless, and the register is public.
